Interest in home foreclosures is apparent in the current election. Both camps talk about how they are going to reduce foreclosures. But do they really know how?
So far neither candidate has been questioned on his/her opinions of the federal takeover of this market making giant. The largest government intervention in a private financial market in a very long time has huge (let me emphasize that word HUGE) political implications. Any answer from the candidates will require a high level of economic savvy and political conviction. Watch for these dialogues and follow up on the way each candidates perpetuates his/her economic rhetoric – this will be a good way to see consistent or inconsistent knowledge of the economy.
